Greenacres is in a fantastic location, quiet and relaxing for your stay, yet near enough to be the perfect base for seeing the local attractions. Our own site is a great base for walkers and cyclists with many footpaths on our doorstep, but there are lots of things to do and see within a short distance. Below we’ve listed some of the most popular thongs to do and see in the area.

Tuxford Town

The designated conservation town of Tuxford is only a 10 minute walk away and is a delightful traditional village with plenty of independent shops, eateries, galleries, a windmill and a museum.

Sherwood Forest

The legendary home of Robin Hood. This 450 acre park has a range of activities including walking trails, cycling trails and festivals.

Lincoln

About a 30-minute drive from Greenacres is the historic Cathedral town of Lincoln. The town is famous for its medieval cathedral which was once the tallest building in the world for over 200 years.

Clumber Park

An incredible 3800 acre park teeming with wildlife and beautiful walks.

Rufford Abbey Country Park

Visit the 12th century ruins of Rufford Abbey. As well the ruins, the site also has fantastic walks around the lakes and woodland.

Newark-on-Trent

Believed to be an original Roman town, Newark is a short drive from Greenacres. The town has lots of interesting buildings and places of interest such as Newark Castle and Newark Air Museum.

Fishing

Famous for its barbel fishing, the river Trent and A1 pits are great locations for anglers of all levels of skill.

Greenacres makes a great base for exploring around the local areas. Our location makes it easy to explore Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, before retiring back to peaceful and idyllic surroundings at Greenacres
